Nicaragua,
Travel, and Vacation
Welcome to NicaraguaLand.com. Although most people do
not think of Nicaragua positively thanks to events that happened in
the 1980s, the fact is that since that time the country has gone to
great lengths to turn itself around and attract tourists and visitors.
To do this, locals have started to promote Nicaragua culture. Nicaraguans
are proud of their heritage, interesting outdoors activities and friendly
residents.
Even though taking a Nicaragua vacation was the last thing on people’s
minds as recently as a couple of decades ago, Nicaraguans have done
a lot of work to encourage people to visit their country. Thanks to
these efforts, Nicaragua real estate is now doing better than ever.
Nicaragua beach hotels are particularly strong investments in recent
years. People are finding that building hotels along the beaches has
helped spur economic growth in the country and has been profitable for
developers. Even though beach hotels are popular, there are other hotels
Nicaragua has to offer as well.
There are hotels in the capitol city of Managua, but most people tend
to want to visit Granada, which is the city in Nicaragua most designed
for tourism.
One of the indications that Nicaragua has grown and developed as a tourist
destination is its economic growth. Over the last decade, industry in
the country has grown more than 70 percent. If this were not enough
proof, tourism revenue has increased by 300 percent over the same time
period. As the country continues to overcome its stigmas of the past,
it will continue to grow.
Many of the homes that are being built in Nicaragua are being built
by developers from outside of Nicaragua as they realize the country’s
earning potential. Lake Nicaragua, which is also known as Lake Cociboica,
is one of the areas in Nicaragua that is seeing many homes being built
near it. This is the largest lake in Central America and the 20th largest
lake in the world.
There are also dozens of smaller lakes in the country where real estate
is being purchased. Because the Pacific Ocean forms the country’s
border to the west and the Caribbean Sea forms to border to the east,
there is plenty of beachfront property available in the country.
After people get past their concerns of the past about political insurrection
in Nicaragua, they often have concerns about traveling to the country.
Because Nicaragua has not always been a hub for tourists, some people
fear taking a flight to the country because they are unsure of how the
airport will be.
Although some people choose to drive to Nicaragua, from the United States,
this is quite a trip. In addition to needing to drive through several
other Central American countries in order to reach Nicaragua, visas
are required to gain passage through each of these countries.
And it is important to remember that the roads in Central America are
not like the roads in the United States. Interstate-type roads are few
and far between in Central America.
The good news is that as tourism has improved, upgrades have been made
to the airports – especially in Granada – that make for
a comfortable flight into and leaving the country.
